Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers programmes to aspirants at the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level. Courses offered at JNU are in streams including –Humanities & Social Sciences, IT & Software, Science and Law. The University also offers courses in International Studies, Molecular Medicine and Sanskrit Studies.
JNU is in talks to establish a satellite centre outside the national capital region. As part of this centre students will be offered professional courses and a bio-incubator would also be set up on campus. This satellite centre of JNU would also have industry-funded labs on campus.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for UG & PG Courses
Candidates are eligible to apply for admission in UG courses if they have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board. On the other hand, the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for PG course admissions is such that candidates should be graduates in their field of study from a recognised college/university.

Admission in courses offered at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is on the basis of entrance exam as well as merit.
Candidates can secure admission in undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil and PhD programmes offered at the varsity on the basis of their performance in Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE). The varsity conducts another entrance exam called Jawaharlal Nehru University Combined Entrance Examination (JNU CEEB) to secure admission in MTech Biotechnology, MSc Biotechnology and MSc (Agri) Biotechnology and MVSc programmes.
Further, the admission process of JNU requires candidates to appear for viva-voce. Thus, candidates need to appear for viva-voce examination to secure admission in courses like MPhil/PhD, MA programmes in foreign languages, BA (Hons) Second year, Advanced Diploma in Mass Media (Urdu)
